Welcome!  If you would like to read recent sermons, please use the links to the left.  The most recent ones can be found at the bottom of the column.

I am very glad to be serving here at Covington--this is truly a wonderful congregation!  My husband Mike and I moved here from Chicago in the summer of 2008.

I am originally from the Mid-Atlantic region, growing up near Philadelphia and in south central Virginia.  I majored in English at Davidson College, a small liberal arts college in North Carolina affiliated with the PCUSA.

After graduation I served for two years as a Presbyterian Young Adult Volunteer, first in Belfast, Northern Ireland and then in Tucson, Arizona.  In Belfast I worked with children and youth at the Vine Community Centre and Rosemary Presbyterian Church.  In Tucson I worked at Humane Borders and volunteered with No More Deaths, two organizations serving migrants in the border region.  I believe the Young Adult Volunteer Program is one of the best opportunities for service in our denomination and was the turning point for me in my call to ministry.

I attended McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago and graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree in 2007.  During my time at McCormick I interned for a year at First United Church in Oak Park, Illinois.  Following graduation Mike and I were married--Mike was also a student at McCormick and we had met several years before through the Young Adult Volunteer Program.  After his graduation, we moved here to western New York I began serving as pastor at Covington in August 2008.

I hope to see you in church!

peace and blessings,

Rev. Laura Fry
